Founded in 1998, the Alabama Stage and Screen Hall of Fame honors Alabamians who have made significant contributions to film, television or theater, including Nat King Cole, Fannie Flagg, and Dean Jones. The hall is located on the grounds of the Shelton State Community College. Each year a state-wide selection committee chooses a new set of honorees to be memorialized in the hall.
