Great view. Good service and wonderful specials. Everything on the menu is wonderful. Muffins are out of this world.

Great atmoshere, great prices!

The Cypress Inn is an incredible value for your hard earned money. The atmosphere is elegantly simple with a view of the Warrior River. This long established restaurant offers a setting which doubles as a place for romance, or a place to just have a great meal. They offer group acodomations, and reservations are always best. Keep your eyes open; you just never know if a past, present, or future sports star is there as well being a short distance from the University of Alabama. You have got to go to this top spot!

Pricey, but really good

Cypress Inn is a great place for a romantic dinner or a ritzier place to meet friends. It's located on the Black Warrior River, so it has great atmosphere. It is more upscale than a lot of the restaurants in the area, and also pricier. The food was really good, though. It is under the same ownership as the Northport and 15th street Diners, so the same great rolls that you get there, you get here. I had seafood and it was very tasty. I'd definitely go again if I had the chance. They used to have a special where UA students received a discount, but that was several years ago.

busy on game days

I used to work there. I brought family and friends there when they came to town. No discounts- it was simply the best place in town. The atmosphere is casual for lunch. The white linen and candles are set out for dinner. The most experienced servers work the window seats. Dispite another rater's comments, THE STAFF IS NOT RACIST. It is VERY busy on days of home football games. Just avoid it for homecoming day. The owner does NO ADVERTISING; he doesn't have to! His customers do the talking for him. Here's a hint, don't stuff yourself and ask your server for "sum more o'them free muffins." You'll want to save room for the other food. Any of the fish recommendations are going to be very good. The beef is fantastic! Try the Certified Angus prime rib, but ask to have it blackened/ med.rare. Such special orders are done if they're not too busy. The bread pudding is some of the best I've had. For a decadant alternative, ask for a Frappocino Shake with a liquer flavoring added. This is another "special order" you won't see listed - but, Yumm!
